What is PKR Coin (PKRC)?
PKR Coin (PKRC) is Pakistan's first regulated digital stablecoin, pegged 1:1 to the Pakistani Rupee. It is issued by JaybPay on the Stellar blockchain and designed to make digital payments accessible to every Pakistani — including the 58% without bank accounts. Every PKRC is fully backed by PKR held in regulated financial institutions.
Is PKRC regulated by the State Bank of Pakistan?
JaybPay operates under the State Bank of Pakistan's Electronic Money Institution (EMI) regulatory framework. This means JaybPay must hold 100% reserves against all PKRC in circulation, maintain KYC/AML compliance, submit to regular audits, and adhere to SBP's consumer protection guidelines. PKRC issuance and redemption is governed by this framework.
How do I get PKRC? How do I redeem it?
During the beta phase, PKRC is issued through JaybPay's onboarding process. You can deposit PKR and receive an equivalent amount of PKRC to your JaybPay wallet or Stellar wallet. To redeem, simply send PKRC back and receive PKR — via bank transfer, Easypaisa, JazzCash, or a cash agent. Redemption is always 1:1 at face value.
Can I hold PKRC in a third-party Stellar wallet?
Yes. PKRC is a standard Stellar asset and can be held in any Stellar-compatible wallet that supports custom assets — such as Lobstr, XBULL, or Solar Wallet. To receive PKRC, the wallet must establish a trustline to the PKRC issuer. Developer documentation for integration is available on request.
How does the offline payment mode work?
JaybPay's offline mode uses cryptographic signed vouchers to authorize PKRC transfers without internet. The sender signs a payment instruction locally; the recipient receives it via SMS, Bluetooth, or USSD. The transaction is queued on the recipient's device and broadcast to the Stellar network once connectivity is restored. Double-spend prevention is handled through cryptographic nonces and time-locked signatures.
